Day 6- Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks

We had a quick instant oatmeal breakfast in our log cabin before visiting the Gizzly Discovery Center. Later, we ventured back to Yellowstone. We stopped at the Middle Basin to see hot water spilling into the cold river in a steaming waterfall and then trekked on over to Old Faithful. We arrive early and were able to walk around looking at all the other geysers before seeing Old Faithful spout at its predicted time. The park rangers were right on the money. It went off at 12:12 pm exactly! After seeing the famous geyser, we picked up lunch goodies at the general store and drove south to Grand Teton. I thought it was, perhaps, more beautiful than Yellowstone. The Teton range- overlooking the prarie and the Snake River- was absolutely beautiful! We drove around the park (and saw moose and antelope) before heading out. On our way out of Yellowstone, we saw a herd of buffalo and even a little grizzly bear on the side of the road. Despite all warnings to stay away from wild animals, we got out of the car to take a picture. The bear was docile and totally ignored us while it scratched its head and munched on foliage. We had a long night drive to Sheridan, WY but we stopped in Cody (rodeo capital of the road!) to have a beer at a cowboy bar (boy, did we feel out of place!) and to have dinner at the Wyoming Rib and Chop House. I was expecting steak and potatoes, but the food was amazing. We ate 'till we were stuffed. On our way to Sheridan, we drove through a huge thunderstorm and saw "Probst's Western Wear Store" in Greybull, WY.
