Day 9- South Dakota to Nebraska/Iowa

Started the morning by stopping at a HUGE fireworks store in South Dakota. Apparently, fireworks are only legal in SD during 4th of July, but you can buy anything you want with an out-of-state license. Evan had a ball picking out different fireworks. Now, we have to find a state where it's legal to shoot them off! Next, we stopped at Wall Drug in Wall, SD. It's a drugstore that became famous for giving out free ice water (when cars didn't have A/C) and for posting signs EVERYWHERE. Now, it's a huge tourist trap with tons of souvenir crap and hokey places to take pictures. I loved it!!!

We made a short detour through Badlands National Park (which was absolutley beautiful!). Such unique landscape! It was hotter than Hades though! Next, we stoppped at a bunch of touristy roadside attractions: a petrified forest, a old car museum, and, best of all, Mitchell's Corn Palace (a bulding covered entirely with corn). They had a movie about corn, a gift shop filled with corn-related products, and even a tour. We drove all the way from Rapid City to Sioux Falls (where we stopped to see the waterfall at the Big Sioux River) and then on to Omaha, NE (where we spent the night).
